Wise Words for Today

The church was never meant to be the “spectator sport” that it has become. This is where believers gather to watch a few professionals do the ministry, and they are just allowed to cheer them on and pay their money. Neither is the church called to be a big sheep pen where the people are gathered so the shepherds can throw food at them once or twice a week. However, these are more of a true reflection of what the church is today, in general, than its biblical counterpart. However, the true seeker will press beyond the ordinary to find an extraordinary life and relationship with God. This is up to us to pursue. We can never blame the quality of our Christian life on others. As Paul Cain once said, “We are about as close to God as we want to be.”
